This is a temporary full-time position, running from December 9, 2024, to June 27, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

As our MYP Danish Language Acquisition teacher, you will teach Danish B to students in Grades 6-10, many of whom are learning Danish as a second, third, or fourth language. You will have the opportunity to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students in an international environment, following the MYP curriculum.

You will join us in a workplace with a unique international culture, housed in a modern, architect-designed building in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn district, right by the waterfront and close to public transport. At Copenhagen International School (CIS), we value innovation, collaboration, and engagement. Our teachers are empowered to design meaningful learning experiences in an inclusive and supportive environment where your work can make a real difference.

  • Create engaging and differentiated lessons for MYP students in Danish B, focusing on language acquisition for students learning Danish as an additional language.

  • Leverage digital learning platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in planning and assessment, utilising formative and summative evaluation strategies.

  • Be knowledgeable about co-teaching and collaborative models, planning effectively with teachers, parents, and administration.

  • Support the school’s diverse community and contribute to student development both academically and personally.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, with strong organisational skills and a commitment to student success.

Qualifications

  • A relevant teaching qualification in Danish language acquisition or teaching Danish as a foreign language.

  • Experience working with students who are learning Danish as an additional language, ideally in an international school setting.

  • Experience with the IB curriculum (MYP or DP) is preferred but not required.
